Thanks for sharing this, Paul. I keep filling up my Kindle faster than I finish books; however, this is one of two or three novels that are haunting me from the periphery that I really need to get to...and soon.

Aha, so you're one of those readers, eh? :)

Glad you stopped by and enjoyed the story. And I say, by all means write something. Your English degree probably makes you more qualified than most. Now, if you decide you want to try to make a living off your writing, we'll have to talk. I think one has to be a little crazy to take on such an endeavor.

Hope you have a good weekend.

Paul, you're the man. I cheated and scrolled down to the end before I started and I was still surprised! Nice job. Just downloaded your two books of Amazon. Super proud of you. I've always wanted to write/publish something. Sometimes I think the only thing my English degree is good for is correcting 8th students' essays. Great job!

Hey Andrew, thanks for your thoughts. And interesting comparisons. I haven't read Less Than Zero, but I find it interesting that you relate to the detachment.

Thanks for picking up The Imaginings and helping me spread the word. It's been kind of a slow month for it, but I'm hearing that February is slow for many authors (at least that's what I will tell myself :))

Very thorough review, Paul. Nicely done. It sounds unique, and I admit I'm intrigued, but as I tend to gravitate toward the happy, the structured, and even (on occasion) the religious, I'll probably opt for Lloyd Alexander this afternoon. :)

I haven't read 100 Days yet but I will put it on my reading list for now.

As far as identifying a narrator, I identified a lot with the narrator of Bright Lights, Big City (even if I don't go to clubs or do coke). Although that's 2nd person and it's up to interpretation of whether it's the character talking about himself, somebody else talking about the character, or Jay McInerney talking about the character (himself?). Also, I identified with Clay in Less Than Zero. Again, I'm a very different person from Clay. However, we both grew up in The Valley (albeit very different eras and areas of it) and I can understand his detached view from it all.

Also, I just want to tell you that I picked up a copy of The Imaginings. I'll be more than happy to spread the word of the 99 cents sale.
